Measurements and tests are carried out to check whether products and processes conform to specifications, standards or legal requirements. They provide the basis for evaluating or approving products and processes, or raising complaints about them. However, a measured value without its associated measurement uncertainty can lead to incorrect conformity assessments – potentially with serious economic or legal consequences.
We support you with the following services relating to measurement uncertainty:
- The article series “Measurement uncertainty in practice”
- Training on measurement uncertainty
- Evaluation of testing processes and measurement uncertainty by our inspection body
- Materials testing, including meaningful measurement uncertainty, by our testing laboratory
“Measurement uncertainty in practice”
Our four-part blog series “Measurement uncertainty in practice” provides an in-depth introduction to measurement uncertainty.
- Measurement uncertainty in practice: General observations(opens in new tab)
- Measurement uncertainty in practice: The general approach in seven steps(opens in new tab)
- Measurement uncertainty in practice: Determining conductivity analytically(opens in new tab)
- Measurement uncertainty in practice: Determining conductivity statistically(opens in new tab)
Training on measurement uncertainty
The W.S. Spezial seminars MU1 and MU2 take place on scheduled dates at our premises in Essen. On request, we are also happy to provide in-house versions of the courses with tailored content, or online seminars.
Measurement uncertainty in mechanical and technological testing (MU1 seminar)
The seminar provides comprehensive knowledge and approaches for evaluating measured values and calculating measurement uncertainty in mechanical and technological inspection methods. Further information and registration: https://www.werkstoff-service.de/en/trainingcenter/kurse-und-seminare-buchen/measurement-uncertainties-in-mechanical-and-technological-testing-mu1-seminar/(opens in new tab).
Measurement uncertainty and POD in non-destructive testing (MU2 seminar)
The seminar provides comprehensive knowledge and approaches for evaluating test results and calculating measurement uncertainty in non-destructive inspection methods.
