The certification body operates the NDT RAILWAY certification scheme together with the Verband der Güterwagenhalter in Deutschland e. V. (VPI). The aim of this scheme is to make conformity assessment of NDT processes in railway maintenance consistent, unambiguous, measurable and objectively verifiable throughout Europe.
In particular, the procedure is intended to strengthen trust between organisations that maintain railway vehicles and their components (workshops) and their clients (for example, vehicle keepers, railway undertakings or ECMs). It can be used, for example, in connection with the technical assessment and recognition of railway maintenance workshops by the VPI.
