Euromaterialprüfer, material testing specialist, materials testing technician – what is the difference?

The German terms Euro-Materialprüfer, Fachkraft für Materialprüfung, Materialprüfer and ZfP-Qualitätsprüfer are different names for a qualification programme that typically lasts six months and focuses on non-destructive testing (NDT) of metals. We call this programme “Fachkraft für Materialprüfung” (material testing specialist) and offer it in two specialisations: metals technology and systems technology.

  • Systems technology: qualification in 6 NDT methods plus radiation protection (equivalent to the Euromaterialprüfer programme)
  • Metals technology: qualification in the 4 most commonly used NDT methods, as well as methods of destructive materials testing and materials engineering.

The specialisations allow participants to qualify according to their individual interests and open up even more career prospects.
